OHTA Strategic Review

Review of the OH Training Association's strategic plan

The Occupational Hygiene Training Association has made a very successful start, with the launch of the OHlearning.com website, over 60 courses run in 19 countries and over 650 international module exams taken. We have gained practical experience of operating the system and have a better understanding of the opportunities and barriers. We now face a number of challenges. We need to:- a) orqanise ourselves to continue development and maintain standards of service delivery, and b) re-define our future direction and priorities in the light of available resources and demands. We need to be clear about long-term funding requirements and sources, about our target audience, roles of stakeholders (ATPs, sponsors) etc. There are strategic decisions to be made about, for example, whether we give priority to raising awareness globally or developing higher level qualifications. Our aim is to develop a strategy that will:- 1).define objectives and targets for the next 3-5 years, and 2). provide a basis for developing plans for marketing and funding. We are keen to make sure that our strategy reflects the wishes of the occupational hygiene community and we intend to consult widely as we develop it. This project will allow us to post details of consultation opportunities and relevant materials and as they are developed. Please contribute your ideas, suggestions, feedback and comments.
